Senate Gown

Queen Amidala wears this interesting gown when she speaks before the Senate in Coruscant.

Design:
"The Episode I Senate Gown is a loose-fitting robe, worn under a faux-fur-peak-shouldered cape, made in a red-shot-green silk velvet fabric decorated with a combination of freehand bronze metallic embroidered thread motifs and ruched yoke and hem panels. It is lined in an orange silk taffeta overlaid with gold metallic organza, enhanced on the collar and cuff facings with seed pearls and trapunto detail. The underdress, in an orange-shot-gold vintage silk taffeta was constructed using layers of sharply sunray-pleated panels heavily decorated with antique beads. The Mongolian-inspired headdress with its close-fitting gold metallic cap studded with colored jewels and filigree details, was made in copper using an electro-forming technique and then gold-plated."

Headdress:
"Mongolian-inspired Episode 1 Senate headdress with complex gold-plated embellishment embedded with turquoise and ruby-colored stones and filigree work on hanging sidepieces."
-Dressing a Galaxy

"When Amidala pleads for her people before the Galactic Senate, she appears in an extra ordinary gown and hairstyle that expresses the majesty of the free people of Naboo. The regal attire also hides Amidala's feelings and helps her stay courageous and aloof."
